Alaska June 2022
Friday June 10 – Friday June 17, 2022
This trip is focused on photographing birds along the Denali Highway and the Kenai peninsula. We plan to take two boat trips into the Kenai Fjords National Park and spend some time photographing Bald Eagles in the vicinity of Seward. The scenery we will encounter on this trip is nothing short of spectacular and though this is primarily a bird photography trip we will certainly stop for any subject that we find interesting along our way.
The climate is mild to cool this time of year and the level of exertion should be low to moderate. Most of the birding will be near our vehicle or from a boat and there shouldn’t be any long hikes. The trip is limited to three photographers plus Greg Lavaty. The trip is appropriate for photographers of all skill levels but a basic understanding of photography is helpful. Participants are encouraged to share their knowledge and help each other to get the best results possible. The cost of the trip is $2890 per person for a shared room, for a private room there will be an additional cost of $550. This includes all ground transportation starting and ending at the Anchorage airport (ANC), entrance fees, lodging and guide fees. It doesn’t not include airfare, or meals.
