This trip Starts in the highlands of the Talamanca range.  Here we will search the various highland specialties including the Resplendent Quetzal as well as such beautiful birds as Emerald Toucanet, Long-tailed Silky Flycatcher, Flame-colored Tanager and Fiery-throated Hummingbird.  This is a great opportunity to experience the beauty and abundance of the cloud forest as well as some cool weather.

Resplendent Quetzal

From the mountains we will travel down to the Pacific lowlands in southern Costa Rica.  Here we will look for a variety of species including Fiery-billed Aracari, Smooth-billed Ani, Blue Ground Dove, Baird’s Trogon, Red-capped Manakin, Red-breasted Blackbird and Ruddy-breasted Seedeater.  We will have opportunities to experience the rain forest and some more open wetlands packed with a variety of avifauna.

Long-tailed Silky Flycatcher
