Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl

This quick trip focuses on capturing the beauty of the American Flamingo in its native habitat on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.  We will make two boat trips into the Ria Lagartos Preserve where we expect to photograph these iconic birds in all their glory.  We will also have opportunities to photograph a variety of land birds in the area including the Mexican Sheartail, Yucatan Vireo, Lesser Yellow-headed Vireo, Yucatan Jay, Yucatan Woodpecker, “Mangrove” Yellow Warbler, Common Black Hawk and a variety of others.

This trip is limited to three participants and starts and ends at the Cancun International Airport CUN.  The priority is on obtaining beautiful photos of the birds of the area, especially the American Flamingo.  

Mangrove Yellow Warbler

The trip cost is $1279/person with a shared room (a private room is an additional $175).  This includes all transportation starting and ending at the Cancun International Airport CUN.  Flights should arrive around noon on Jan 7 and depart after noon on Jan 10.  Also included is lodging, any entrance fees, guide fees and two boat excursions.  Not included is your food, international airfare or any other personal expenses.
